I went to college to Indiana, Pa., where Jimmy Stewart grew up. During the holidays, the streets at twilight looked very much like those in Bedford Falls. 
My favorite Stewart film (above) is &#8220;Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.&#8221; His most famous, of course, is &#8220;It&#8217;s a Wonderful Life.&#8221;
Back in 2001, before I was even a student, the Washington City Paper analyzed my college town and homage to Jimmy Stewart when a WaPo stringer happened to get an assignment there during the Christmas season, just after George Harrison had passed away (has it really been that long?). Anyway, Indiana celebrated the centennial of Stewart&#8217;s birth yesterday.
